Twelve practical templates. Download an editable workbook with example calculations, or a plain CSV to use in your own app.

Illustrative numbers are already filled in: replace them before making decisions. XLSX files include formulas; CSV files are plain starting data. Downloads run in your spreadsheet app. We do not receive the numbers you enter.

Monthly Budget

Compare the money you expect with what actually comes in and goes out.

How to use it
  1. Choose one calendar month and use one currency.
  2. Enter take-home income, expenses, and saving transfers as positive amounts. Use Type Income, Expense, or Saving.
  3. Replace the illustrative rows and add your categories. Enter zero for a confirmed zero; leave unknown actuals blank.
  4. A positive expense difference means you spent more than planned. A positive income difference means you received more.
  5. Review the remaining cash amounts and name one adjustment for next month.

This is a spending-account budget, not a net-worth statement. Savings transfers are money assigned outside the spending account. Avoid counting a credit-card purchase and its later repayment twice in the same spending analysis. Choose a consistent method. Totals cover rows 2:28. Insert rows inside this range or update the formulas when extending.

Bill Calendar

See the payment dates, due dates, and amounts that need attention.

How to use it
  1. Replace example dates with the month you are planning.
  2. List every bill, including automatic payments and irregular bills due this month.
  3. Choose a payment date that allows the provider’s actual processing time.
  4. Record paid amounts only after checking the payment record.
  5. Sort the whole table by planned payment date and check the next seven days each week.

Negative remaining amounts mean recorded payments exceed the bill. Investigate credits or entry errors. This calendar does not send reminders or initiate payments. Use a bill nickname. Do not enter account numbers, login details, or full payment-card numbers.

Emergency Fund Planner

Choose a personal cash-buffer target and a manageable contribution.

How to use it
  1. Add up the essential costs you would still need during an income interruption.
  2. Choose your own initial number of months. The example of one month is an editable starting assumption.
  3. Count only savings actually reserved for this goal.
  4. Enter a monthly contribution your cash plan can support.
  5. Review after an unexpected expense or meaningful income change.

The target is a planning choice, not a universal recommendation. The estimate ignores interest, withdrawals, inflation, and changing contributions. All money inputs should be nonnegative. Target months may be fractional.

Debt Inventory

Put balances, minimum payments, and next actions in one place.

How to use it
  1. Use current statements to list the debts you are responsible for.
  2. Enter APR as a decimal: 24.9% is 0.249. Leave unknown rates blank.
  3. Keep minimum payment separate from the extra amount you are considering.
  4. Record disputed or unfamiliar items as questions to verify.
  5. Compare the planned payments with available cash before scheduling them.

This is an inventory, not an amortization or payoff-date calculator. Promotional rates, fees, secured debts, arrears, and legal obligations need individual attention. Do not enter account numbers or a Social Security number.

Savings Goal Planner

Turn a purchase or milestone into a per-payday saving amount.

How to use it
  1. Give each goal a name and a target amount.
  2. Count the actual remaining paydays before the cost is due.
  3. Assign existing savings to only one goal.
  4. Compare your planned contribution with the required amount.
  5. If the plan shows a shortfall, change the deadline, goal amount, or contribution.

Positive surplus means planned contributions exceed the remaining gap. Negative means a shortfall. Estimates exclude interest and price changes. Use positive whole numbers for remaining paydays.

Subscription Audit

Compare annual cost with actual use before the next renewal.

How to use it
  1. Search recent statements for recurring charges and free-trial renewal dates.
  2. Enter annual renewals: monthly 12, quarterly 4, annual 1, weekly 52, or your actual contract count.
  3. Review recent use and decide Keep, Change, Cancel, or Review.
  4. Complete cancellation with the provider and retain the confirmation.
  5. Check a later statement to verify the change.

A cancel decision is not proof of cancellation. Annual cost is an estimate at the current price. Variable usage and future price changes are excluded.

Variable Income Plan

Plan each week using income timing and an editable cash floor.

How to use it
  1. Use Monday as the week start and list one row per week.
  2. Count only money available for this spending plan in opening cash.
  3. Keep confirmed receipts separate from income you merely expect.
  4. For each later row, copy the previous closing cash into opening cash or link it after the previous week is complete.
  5. Test a lower-income plan by setting uncertain receipts to zero.

A monthly average does not guarantee cash arrives before a bill. Negative floor differences flag a gap against your chosen buffer. Do not include the same reserve funds in opening spending cash and separate savings.

Invoice Tracker

Track amounts invoiced, money received, and the next follow-up.

How to use it
  1. Assign a unique invoice ID and a client nickname.
  2. Use the invoice’s actual total and agreed due date.
  3. Add payments to Received total only when the payment is confirmed.
  4. Use Outstanding amount to spot balances or overpayments.
  5. Keep supporting invoices and receipts in your private records.

This is a receivables tracker, not an invoice issuer or tax return. Invoice totals may include tax collected; do not equate the total with revenue or take-home pay. Do not include client banking details or confidential project material.

Side Business Unit Economics

See what one sale contributes before fixed costs and tax.

How to use it
  1. Model one offer at one price per row.
  2. List materials, delivery costs, per-sale fees, and paid production labor in variable costs.
  3. List costs paid regardless of sales in monthly fixed costs.
  4. Compare whole-unit break-even volume with your real delivery capacity.
  5. Use the notes field to state whether your own labor has been included.

Operating surplus is before income tax and any owner labor not included in costs. The model assumes a stable price and cost per sale. Mixed offers need a separate combined model. No contribution means this price does not cover the modeled variable cost.

13-Week Cash Flow

Map cash receipts and payments across the next thirteen weeks.

How to use it
  1. Use one row per week for thirteen consecutive weeks.
  2. Enter available opening cash and the dates cash is expected to move.
  3. Customer cash receipts are payments received, not invoices issued.
  4. For later weeks link opening cash to the previous closing cash; update forecasts after each actual week.
  5. Keep transfers outside the modeled account scope visible and avoid counting internal transfers twice.
  6. Move a large receipt two weeks later to see whether the plan can still meet its cash floor.

Loan proceeds belong in Other cash in and are not sales revenue. Debt principal and equipment purchases affect cash even when accounting expense timing differs. A cash forecast does not calculate taxable profit.

Creator Launch Budget

Keep planned costs, actual payments, and unpaid commitments visible.

How to use it
  1. Set a launch cash limit before committing to suppliers or advertising.
  2. List production, accessibility, distribution, promotion, and support costs.
  3. Record paid and still-owed amounts separately.
  4. For uncommitted expected spending, add a clearly labeled forecast row and update it as decisions change.
  5. Positive forecast variance means the cost is above plan.

Forecast final cost includes recorded paid amounts and commitments, so missing expected costs can understate the total. Do not include the same deposit in both paid and unpaid commitment. This budget does not estimate audience demand or guarantee sales.

Revenue Experiments

Run a small offer test and record the result against a chosen threshold.

How to use it
  1. Write a specific offer and one question the experiment will answer.
  2. Choose a cash cap, time cap, sample definition, and end date in your private notes before beginning.
  3. Count qualified visits or conversations consistently across tests.
  4. Enter confirmed purchases and cash actually collected.
  5. Compare the result with the original decision threshold and choose Keep, Change, or Stop.

Net test cash excludes fixed overhead, tax, and unpaid owner time unless included explicitly. A purchase rate from a small sample is descriptive and may not repeat. Do not claim causation from an uncontrolled before-and-after comparison.
