Rentals and housing

Junction currently supports reviewed native rental listings, unavailable date ranges, private inquiries and dated host responses. An inquiry or availability response is not a reservation, lease, guarantee, screening result or payment. Listing owners remain responsible for accurate pricing, availability, lawful housing terms, permits, tax obligations and honoring their agreements.

Native rental payments now use the host’s verified Stripe Connect account after a written offer and guest acceptance. Payment timing, the 5% platform fee, no-fee alternatives and cancellation records are explained in the community commerce and rental terms. Neither the payment window nor Stripe’s payout schedule provides escrow, insurance or a guarantee.

Do not post discriminatory housing criteria or submit financial credentials, government identifiers, sensitive screening data or identity documents in the request workspace. Use Virginia’s landlord-tenant resources and qualified advice for a specific agreement. A platform terms page does not replace applicable housing rights.

Giving and community campaigns

Giving intake is a private proposal. Public requests on Support Local can link to supported external fundraiser providers after review. Native Stripe fundraising remains unavailable until the provider accepts the actual fundraising model and the beneficiary is verified. Ordinary Stripe checkout access is insufficient. Stripe’s restricted-business rules apply.

No funds are collected through the intake form, no amount raised is invented, and a goal is not money received. A support purchase for the Junction is separate from a donation to a neighbor. Do not claim charitable status or tax deductibility without applicable evidence.

Tributes, weddings and family permission

Announcements require an active paid creator plan, rights attestation and publication review. Remembrance submissions need an authorized family representative or provider; wedding announcements need both adult participants’ permission. Separate permission is required for photographs, recordings and copied notice text. Public availability alone is not a reuse license.

Exclude private addresses, guest access details, living relatives’ sensitive data and children’s identifiers. Sources and corrections must stay attached to the publication. The notice-source directory is not a complete death register; an index match alone does not confirm a person’s identity or death.

Private family research

The Roots notebook belongs to the signed-in adult. It stores historical questions and notes about deceased people, sources, relationships and evidence labels. No public family tree is created. Owners can edit, export and delete notes. Do not upload restricted vital records or put living-person identifiers into this notebook. Deleted active notes may remain in ordinary backup, security or legally required records under our privacy policy.

Learning and parenting conversations

All learning paths can be read without a child account. Optional progress is saved under an adult account, without a child’s name or profile. It is self-reported completion, not a grade or certification. Parents and caregivers supervise young learners and decide whether to open external resources, whose policies apply separately.

Forums use adult accounts and the existing moderation and reporting rules. Do not post private child, medical, family or location details. Use the relevant professional or public service for confidential assistance; community discussion does not provide emergency care or professional advice.

Environmental claims and impact receipts

The parent CrownThrive Impact Institute describes Ecodrive and Stripe Climate participation. Junction has not verified a specific allocation for ordinary site purchases. Tree checkout, project pricing and fulfillment receipts are not connected here yet. Carbon-removal contributions and tree planting must be described separately. No planting, delivery, environmental outcome or tax benefit is represented without evidence.

Location, source data and privacy

Portal alerts use a fixed town-center coordinate; they do not send your precise location. Public source checks and cached notices show actual retrieval times and may be stale or unavailable. A nearest town portal does not determine a voting district, a utility service area or a property’s availability.

Rental requests and responses are visible only to the participating host and guest through the workspace. Personal notes and learning progress are owner-only. Necessary service records are separate from optional analytics, which remain controlled by consent.
