The city calendar sets the event window

Salem’s official October calendar lists the Salem Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Run on Saturday, October 10, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Salem Farmers Market. The three events have different distances and participation needs; readers should not assume one registration or start procedure covers every race.

Use the organizer for race specifics

Check the event link for registration status, packet pickup, start times, course, age rules and accessibility information. Drivers and downtown visitors should use current posted traffic controls rather than infer a closure from the event name.

A calendar listing does not guarantee remaining capacity, weather or an unchanged route.

Plan for the participant, not a generic runner

Choose a distance appropriate to the participant’s preparation and seek qualified medical guidance when health concerns affect activity. For children, keep registration and contact details with the adult responsible for them.
