Gretna’s 2010 Lady Hawks finished 18–7 and defeated Holston 5–1 for the Group A softball title at Radford University, according to the General Assembly’s commemorative resolution. Head coach Ketina Brooks’s team beat Mathews and Virginia High along the way.

The resolution names Brittnie Cooke, Keri Holt, Monica Kennedy, Nikki Bowler and Ashley Vasser as the scorers in the final. Nichole Mills allowed two hits over the final six innings and recorded four strikeouts.

It identifies this as Gretna’s second softball title in three seasons.

The House agreed January 28, 2011; the Senate, February 3. These dates mark legislative recognition.
