Woodrow Wilson served as president of Princeton University and governor of New Jersey before entering the White House. His administration established the Federal Reserve and pursued changes to tariffs and business regulation. After initially maintaining neutrality, the United States entered World War I in 1917. Wilson promoted the League of Nations during the peace negotiations. He served two presidential terms, from 1913 to 1921.
