Bill Clinton served as Arkansas attorney general and governor before winning the presidency in 1992. His administration addressed federal budgeting, trade, welfare, and family leave policy, and participated in diplomacy and military operations in the Balkans. Clinton won reelection in 1996. The House impeached him in 1998, and the Senate acquitted him the next year. His second presidential term ended in January 2001.
