The U.S. Economic Development Administration announced August 18 that Hurt, Virginia, will receive $8.3 million in disaster-supplemental funding to construct a new water-treatment plant supporting industrial development.
It was one of five awards totaling $28.5 million across five states.
The federal release links the program to recovery from major disasters in 2023 and 2024. It does not name a contractor, construction start, plant capacity, local match, job total or customer list for the Hurt project.
