How to recognize Pittsylvania's 2028 reassessment field team

Pittsylvania County expects exterior property visits to begin around the first week of November 2026. The contractor's staff should use marked vehicles and photo identification and will not enter homes or buildings.

This record preserves earlier publication. Source checks date to 2026-08-31; it is not a fresh status report. See current notices.

The county selected Vision Government Solutions in May 2026 for the reassessment that takes effect January 1, 2028. Field staff may photograph and measure exterior features as part of the property review.

A reassessment changes the estimated assessed value. It does not itself set the future tax rate or final tax bill. Property owners should preserve accurate records and use the County's published contact information to verify anyone who appears at a property.

Why it matters

Clear identification rules help residents cooperate with legitimate field work without opening the door to an impersonator.

  • Exterior visits only
  • Marked vehicles and photo ID
  • New values effective Jan. 1, 2028

Review the County's current reassessment page before November and use its contact information to verify an inspector.
